Petrowsky Preview....

I couldn't wait to get home and start editing these shots from a portrait session that I did less than 12 hours ago. I was looking for a family portrait that would make a good B&W for this chic new Christmas Card that I got....Let me know what you think. Myhubby seems to think that Christmas cards should be in color, not B&W...I disagree in a BIG way...I mean, look at this card!

It's kind of hard to see on this white background because it is a white card but I am lovin' it! Sorry, Gina...that I don't have more portraits for you to get a sneak peak at! Promise, they will be ready soon (7 days max!)

Gotta love the WATERFALLS!

The other day I was asked to shoot some family portraits at the most POPULAR spot in temecula...the Waterfalls! Now, if I am gonna be really HONEST....sometimes I lack in the creativity department (shhhh...don't tell anyone). I'm the everything is a square and in a straight line kind of gal.

Well, when I was asked to shoot the Waterfalls I drove by to scout it out. I hadn't been there in a while and I like to have a plan when I begin shooting portraits- especially when kids are involved! Now, I don't know who I saw but this photographer had her clients...wait back up. I skipped the funny part of the story...I went to scout the Waterfalls 3 hours before my shoot and there was not one but TWO other photographers shooting at the Waterfalls! So, I am sitting back watching them work and I don't know who it was but she had her clients hike BEHIND the inital grass area...GENIUS!!!

Now, I am all for adventure...so I climbed all over that little area! And I am SO happy that I did because here is what I got:

See! I would have missed out on all of these fabulous shots! Now, to embarass myself a little further...just so you know...there is a TRAIL to hike up to here! I just never thought to go look on the other side!

And now....without any more random ramblings....

My in front of the Waterfalls, forever faithful, sure shot.

Thank you so much Johnson Family for letting me shoot your pictures. I had a BLAST with your family and I learned a few new tricks along the way! And I also want to say THANK YOU to the random photographer that I saw at the Waterfalls shooting clients behind the Waterfalls!

Adoring Parents

Last Sunday, I had the opportunity to shoot portraits of the most adorable little girl. Not only is she the cutest girl ever but her parents absolutely ADORE her. I know that most parents are ga-ga over their kids but with these parents it was radiating through the lens. It made editing so much fun!

See what I mean!

And she adores them too!

Too cute!! Thanks guys for letting me shoot your family pictures. I hope you enjoy them as much as I have!

Fun Family Pics!

I had so much fun shooting these family portraits. I knew I wanted to shoot on these train tracks but I wasn't expecting to find the abandoned, rusty, vintage, perfect, I couldn't have been any luckier train cars just sitting there in the middle of nowhere! I was absolutely giddy with excitment and I felt like a kid playing on a playground.

They were all such great sports and indulged all of my crazy train posing ideas. They had to climb, crawl, balance and get dirty but in the end it was soooo worth the effort!

I love this picture of the girls walking down the train tracks together...it reminds me of the movie, "Stand By Me"

All I can say is....look at those eyes!

I'm telling ya...we had a lot of fun.

Meet you at the CROSS

One of my really good friends had me do her family portraits at our churches property in Menifee (which was a GREAT idea that I totally can't take credit for). It is out on this dirt road with nothing around but dirt, tumble weeds and these three huge CROSSES. The pictures turned out PRECIOUS! I think I am going to take my kiddos there!

If you look closely at this picture on the side of the cross someone wrote, "Oh, where art thou..." which just adds to the beauty of this picture. With the family collectively putting their hands on the cross...It just screams to me, "God we are here...together as a family and we know where to find YOU...we'll meet you at the cross. Everyday, every hour, every minute of our lives!"

And on the other hand, it makes me wonder what the person was feeling when they wrote that on there? What was happening in their life? Were they searching for God?? If they were, those four words are so ironic to me because they were written on the cross and that is exactly were we can find Him!

And then there is this...three beautiful children looking up at the cross knowing exactly who they will find there. A visual reminder of love, mercy and faithfullness. We sereve an AWESOME God and I am touched by the powerful simplicity of these portraits.

And lastly, this picture wasn't planned. I was trying to get the kids walking down the hill with the crosses in the background. Their dad was standing on the side watching me take their portraits and when I saw him there I couldn't help but shoot away. Here he is...raising his children up in the Word to send them into the world when they are ready as he watches closely from behind with God on his side.

Thanks guys for letting me shoot your family portraits...these pictures have touched my heart in a way that you may never know.
